This is the newer version and the most noticeable difference was the metal under the nib. The factory test the nibs which appear to be a bit finer. It had a little tooth to it when I first used it.
The finer point seems to be more along in line with what’s considered a normal size or sizes. This seems to be a fine or some might say fine medium. If you have a medium sized hand you might have a better time writing with the Lamy. The balance seems a bit better with the cap on the end of the barrel which is an ease to grasp, holding it for precision work. It also fits well in your pocket and springs to adjust to your pocket.
My overall impression is this pen is more than adequate.
